How to Invade in Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Gambit Mode

Recommended Videos

Gambit mode is finally here, and while it will be restricted to Destiny 2: Forsaken owners by the time the expansion releases on Sept 4. (possible by the time you’re reading this post), at least for the weekend prior to the launch, everyone can give it a shot. We have been thoroughly impressed with Gambit whenever we played it so far, so it’s definitely worth giving it a try and seeing if you like it.

Invading the other team’s arena is one of the unique, intense and most fun parts of Gambit. After you’ve banked a certain amount of motes, you can jump into a portal that leads to the other team’s area, and try to disrupt their progress by killing their team, and making them lose their motes. When the boss enemy is up, that portal becomes permanently open, and one person can jump in and invade whenever they want and kills at that point heal the boss, and slows down the other team.

Few things to keep in mind for how to invade in Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Gambit mode: You can only invade when the portal is open. There are intervals, based on number of motes banked by your team, that you can jump into the portal. This will be announced by the announcer. Once someone from your team goes in, it closes. Only person at a time, so make sure you’re coordinating so someone who is actually good at PvP is handling the bulk share of the invasions. When the enemy boss is up, you can invade almost as often as you want minus a short cooldown after each invasion. If you’re close to killing your boss, just focus on that, but if you’re behind and need to catch up, keep sending someone over to try and slow down the other team.

That does it for how to invade in Destiny 2’s Gambit Mode. Best of luck out there!
