How to Get Alkane Spores Easily in Destiny 2 The Dawning

As part of the Destiny 2 event called The Dawning, players will need to collect three Alkane Spores on Titan. Alkanes can be found easily on the map but most of the time, players will find the green version, Alkane Dust, rather than the blue Alkane Spore version they require. The drop rate is around one Alkane Spore for every fifteen Alkane Dust, so you’re going to be spending some time searching. While there’s no specific way of actually making the game drop a blue Alkane Spore, there is a technique you can use to increase your chances.

To do so, use your Hunter Class Guardian, then go to your Nightstalker and select the top tier of perks. Activate “Keen Scout.” On your map, you’ll then be able to see all the treasure chests and all the spores as you run around, so you don’t have to search so extensively. This will allow you to accumulate Alkanes much faster and thereby increase your chances of having the rare blue Spore drop.
