How to Get Goku in DBZ Dokkan Battle

Recommended Videos

For most people, assembling your roster in DBZ Dokkan Battle is much the same as it is for any other game based in the Dragon Ball universe. You know that Vegeta is strong, so you’ll give him a go. And Piccolo is always pretty cool, he’s probably worth keeping. Meanwhile, Yamcha is hot garbage, so you’d best stay away.

But above all else, you’ll probably be asking yourself, ‘where is my dude Goku and how can I gets me some of that?’

As this is a card game, there is more than one Goku at your disposal. So many, in fact, that there are literally more than thirty variations of Super Saiyan Goku alone. Like all other characters, Goku has been divided into multiple variations (have a seat, this may take a while)…

Youth, Youth (Giant Ape), standard, Angel, Kaioken, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan (Angel), Super Saiyan (Angel) (Super Kaioken), Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 2 (Angel), Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan 3 (Angel), Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan God SS, Ultra Instinct (-Sign-), Ultra Instinct, GT, Super Saiyan (GT), Super Saiyan 2 (GT), Super Saiyan 3 (GT), Super Saiyan 3 (GT) (Golden Giant Ape), Super Saiyan 4, and Ultra Full Power Super Saiyan 4.

Confused? This doesn’t even include his combination cards with Vegeta: standard, Angel, Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan (Angel). And the transformations like Vegito and Gogeta? They’re in there, too.

To obtain Goku (in whichever iteration you happen to find him), you will have to summon him when you roll for a new set of cards. It is a random process, so luck is a huge component, and as you may suspect, rarer cards will be less likely to appear in each pack. Certain Goku cards can also be obtained through participation in various events – so if the prize for successful completion is a Goku card, that’s the place to look!
