Joining the Warrior of Sunlight Covenant in Dark Souls Remastered
“Praise the Sun” is the most common phrase you’ll hear in conversations surrounding Dark Souls Remastered, but if you really want to become part of the group that embraces this motto, you’re going to have to join the Warrior of Sunlight covenant. The altar for this covenant can be accessed pretty early on in the game, but you need to have 50 faith in order to pray at it. That said, there is a workaround for that.
First off, the Altar of Sunlight can be found in the Undead Parish, right after you defeat the Taurus Demon. When you first approach the Undead Parish, you’ll find the red Hellkite Drake waiting for you there as it flies across the bridge, breathing flames onto anything that moves. You’ll need to run past the Hellkite Drake and activate the bonfire in the building directly behind it. While facing the bonfire, turn right to find an opening full of non-hostile Hollows. You’ll see a broken stone statue in the grass. This is the Altar of Sunlight. However, you can only join the covenant with 50 faith. If you’re not running a magic build, you can still join the covenant easily by engaging in co-op. For each boss you help defeat in co-op, the faith requirement lowers by 5. This means that you can keep playing co-op and defeating bosses until the requirement is low enough for you to join it.
To engage in co-op, you’ll need to use the White Sign Soapstone to leave your summon sign on the ground for other players. The item can be obtained by talking to Solaire and saying “yes” to both of his questions. Solaire himself can be found on the opposite end of the bridge from the Undead Parish bonfire.
