Code Vein is the brand new third-person action-RPG developed and published by Bandai Namco, and it’s certainly a game you should keep an eye out for if you’ve been looking for more Souls-like gameplay to dive into. If you’re wondering how the Vestiges system works in Code Vein, here’s everything you need to know about that.
Code Vein Vestiges Explained
What They Do
As you start to collect more Blood Codes to play around with in the game, you might notice that some of the Gifts abilities associated with a particular Blood Code might not be available for purchase, even if you should have enough Haze for it.
Over in the requirements section, it’ll usually inform you that you need to restore or discover Vestiges in order to unlock them for purchase.
In short, that’s what Vestiges do in Code Vein. They’re essentially items that you can pick up in the world, and once you restore them, you’ll be able to purchase additional Gifts for the associated Blood Codes that you’ve unlocked.
How to Use Code Vein Vestiges
Whenever you’re out exploring, keep an eye out for red colored item pickups. These are usually Vestiges, and they can be turned in to Io back at Home Base to restore them.
Just head to Io at the Home Base, talk to her, and choose the Restore option. You’ll then be able to see which Blood Codes can be restored depending on which Vestiges you have in your inventory. Make your selection, and you’ll get to view the lost memories of the Revenant who gave you that Blood Code.
These memory segments are all fairly linear, only requiring you to follow a set path as you revisit key moments in the Revenant’s past. Once the sequence is complete, those Vestiges will be restored, allowing you to purchase new Gifts through that Blood Code.
That’s all you need to know about how Code Vein’s Vestiges system works. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our Code Vein guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
