Magical Chests in Clash Royale are exactly as their name implies: magical. They’re a way to get the efforts put in by people that play the game over the course of weeks in a simple tap of the screen. They come filled with amazing cards and gold. These are highly coveted and it’s a shame that the only ways to unlock them is either by getting one randomly after winning a battle, or by buying them with gems from the store.

Head over to the shop section of the game and scroll a bit. Just below the cards up for sale is the Treasure Chests section. You’ll find the following there:

Giant Chest (210 Gems)

  • 550 to 650 Gold
  • 80 Cards
  • 8 Rares

Magical Chest (320 Gems)

  • 200 to 250 Gold
  • 30 Cards
  • 1 Epic
  • 6 Rares

Super Magical Chest (1,600 Gems)

  • 1,200 to 1,500 Gold
  • 180 Cards
  • 6 Epics
  • 36 Rares

As you can see, it can be a pretty pricey endeavor to buy a chest with Gems. However, the rewards for doing so (especially with the Magical Chest which brings one epic) are fruitful. Check out the next page for how to get Gems.

Gems

Gems are the special in-game currency for Clash Royale. They’re rarer than Gold but are much more valuable in that they can buy the aforementioned chests. Unfortunately, the developers have made these very difficult to get. The easiest way is by winning games and collecting crowns. This will let you open up the daily Crown Chest once you’ve reached 10 crowns collected. Upon opening it, you’ll get a random assortment of cards, gold, and finally, gems. Crown Chests consistently have them while they may rarely appear in Silver Chests, as well. Additionally, completing achievements and claiming the rewards will net you some gems and coins. While it’s a very small amount of gems this way, at least it’s something and it’s free.

If you’re looking for a faster way and don’t mind spending real world money, you can also buy gems in packs.

  • $0.99 for 80
  • $4.99 for 500
  • $9.99 for 1,200
  • $19.99 for 2,500
  • $49.99 for 6,500
  • $99.99 for 14,000

Gold

Gold is the most common in-game currency for Clash Royale and it’s how you’ll go about buying cards and upgrading them. It’s abundant and it’s pretty useful because you can’t demolish the enemy if your squad doesn’t have the upgrade edge. You’ll get gold from any chests that you open up from your wins. They can be regular ones, Silver, Crown, whatever. Even Magical Chests as mentioned before will yield Gold. Additionally, completing achievements and claiming the rewards will net you some coins and gems.

If you’re finding your pockets are itching for some more, though, you might find the alternate way to get them isn’t worth it. You can use Gems (which are better spent going towards Treasure Chests, if anything) to buy different packs of Gold.

  • 60 Gems for 1,000 Gold
  • 500 Gems for 10,000 Gold
  • 4,500 Gems for 100,000 Gold

There you have it! That’s how you can get yourself some more Magical Chests, Gems, and Gold in Clash Royale. Get out there and play 100 hours worth of the game in a single tap.
