Bravely Default 2: How to Save Your Game

Bravely Default 2 has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch, bringing another round of the same RPG formula so beloved by fans of the series. While you’re making your way through this latest RPG, however, you may be wondering how to save your game in Bravely Default 2. That’s where we come in to help you figure it out and keep your progress safe.

Saving Your Game in Bravely Default 2

Bravely Default 2 has both a manual save option and an auto-save system to ensure your progress is always safely recorded.

To manual save, whenever you’re in town or in the overworld, bring up the menu with X and select ‘Options.’ From here, you should see the ‘Save’ option, which you can then select and record your progress with.

When you’re in dungeons, however, you can only save when you’re at an orange-colored save point. These usually appear about halfway through the dungeon, or right before you take on a boss fight, so be sure to make use of these to avoid any unnecessary retreading of your footprints.

Bravely Default 2 Auto-Save

The game also auto-saves whenever you enter a new area. This also includes any dungeons you enter, and you’ll know the game is auto-saving when you see ‘Saving…’ flashing in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

As such, you shouldn’t have any issues keeping your saved data regularly updated. As long as you’re using the orange save points in dungeons in particular, you shouldn’t find yourself having to re-do any major plot points.

That’s everything you need to know on how to save your game in Bravely Default 2. For more on the game, search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our coverage on the game below.
