With any big release, there are bound to be multiple editions of the game to choose from for both casual and die-hard fans alike, and Borderlands 3 is no different.

Borderlands 3 will release with both a Deluxe and a Super Deluxe edition, both carrying different bonuses that are sure to enhance and extend your experience with the game.

If you find yourself paralyzed with the decision on which version to get before the big launch on Sept. 13, look no further!

Deluxe Edition

  • Price: $79.99

For starters, all editions of the game (even the base Standard version) come with the option to pre-order for a Gold Weapons Skin pack, and that is no different for the Deluxe Edition.

The Deluxe Edition brings with it the following:

  • Retro Cosmetic Pack: Vault Hunter skin, Echo Device skin, weapon skin
  • Neon Cosmetic Pack: Vault Hunter skin, Echo Device skin, trinket
  • Gearbox Cosmetic Pack: weapon skin, trinket
  • Toy Box Weapon Pack: 2 Toy guns, Toy grenade mod, trinket
  • XP Bonuses: Equippable XP & Loot Drop Boost Mods

As you can see, the Deluxe Edition comes with several skins for your Vault Hunter. Depending on which character you choose at the beginning of the game, you will get a Retro and a Neon skin to kit them with from the get-go.

With the Deluxe Edition, there are also skins for your Echo Device, the “pip-boy” like device that your Vault Hunter carries with them to navigate various menus and other interfaces such as the vending machines.

The Toy Box Weapon Pack gives the player two Toy guns, a unique type of gun that may look like a toy, but is still very much lethal. Toy guns have special properties that are unique and just downright fun to use.

There are also several weapon skins included in the Deluxe Edition that will allow you to customize your loot the way you see fit.

To top off the Deluxe Edition, anyone who purchases it will also receive equippable XP bonuses and loot drop boost mods that will raise your chances of scoring some epic loot.

You should purchase the Deluxe Edition if you do not plan on buying the Season Pass down the line, as the Super Deluxe Edition comes bundled with that and more (see below).

Although the Deluxe Edition is a bit more expensive than the Standard Edition, the bonuses you get are well worth the asking price.

The Deluxe Edition is a fantastic offer for any die-hard or casual fan of Borderlands 3 and will no doubt enhance your experience with the game when it hits store shelves this week.

Super Deluxe Edition

  • Price: $99.99 (Special Limited Time Pricing Until Sep. 17)
  • Price: $119.99 (Starting Sep. 17)

The Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition comes jam-packed with goodies. For the steep asking price of $99.99, Gearbox does not disappoint.

However, anyone who wants to purchase the Super Deluxe Edition may want to do it sooner rather than later, as the price of the Super Deluxe Edition is set to increase to $119.99 on Sep. 17.

The Super Deluxe Edition gets everything that the Standard and Deluxe editions get (listed above), as well as the Gold Weapon Pre-Order bonuses.

However, what makes the Super Deluxe Edition unique is its inclusion of the Borderlands 3 Season Pass, which is estimated to be a $40.00 purchase on its own (although Gamestop currently has the Season Pass listed at $49.99).

Not only do you get all of the bonuses of Deluxe Edition, but you also get the Season Pass for only $19.99 more.

The Season Pass will include:

  • Four campaign DLC packs featuring new stories, missions and challenges
  • Butt Stallion Weapon Skin
  • Butt Stallion Weapon Trinket
  • Butt Stallion Grenade Mod

The DLC included with the Season Pass will no doubt be worth the value as Gearbox is known for delivering on some of the most engaging expansion packs ever created, such as Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.

Although the information is scarce on the Season Pass currently, Gearbox has shown in the past that they will deliver on their promises and give fans more great Borderlands 3 content that they want.

The Super Deluxe Edition is a must-buy for anyone who is planning on picking up the Season Pass as it will never be cheaper than it is within this bundle at launch.

If you have the extra cash to spend and you are a die-hard Borderlands fan, purchasing the Super Deluxe Edition is a no-brainer. With the incoming price increase, nabbing all of this content for only $99.99 is a steal.
