It’s finally Fall and that means that we’re getting ever closer to the northern climates more closely resembling Skyrim. Soon, the snow will blanket the bustling towns, winding roads and expansive fields of our world without mods.
Until then, at least we have all these great Skyrim mods to play around with. This time we have everything from the bleakest of bleak to the most kawaii of the kawaii. Here are some of the best Skyrim mods from September 2019.
Complex Ingredient Food And Potion Effects By: DisgruntledWombats
This food and potion mod is one of the most complex additions that I’ve seen for consumable items. It adds specific pros and cons for every single piece of food and potion depending upon what your race is.
A simple example they give is that Argonians can boost their HP by eating raw meat, whereas it will cause Bretons to lose HP. It adds more realism and depth to a system that many people aren’t as interested in.
This mod also adds the need for you to carry a kettle in order to be able to cook or craft potions. It’s just a little thing, but it improves the realism when it comes to this aspect of Skyrim.
Playable Ja’wa Mod By: DisgruntledWombats
This is just a goofy little Playable Ja’wa Mod for fans of the mischevious Star Wars characters. Pick up your spear, and get ready for your new life as the first-ever Dragonborn Ja’wa.
The mod won’t add any more Ja’was to Skyrim, but it’s still good for a laugh or two. To become this diminutive creature, you’ll need to craft a spell tome that will transform you into one.
They suggest doing it away from major population centers and use Become Friendly so people don’t start attacking you. It’s not specified why this happens, but it’s good to know regardless.
The Real Dark Brotherhood By: HorribleAndy
If you’re anything like me, then you always have to join the Dark Brotherhood. The Real Dark Brotherhood mod is a decent overhaul of some key aspects that have to do with the band of assassins.
Now you can now disenchant your shrouded armor, Shadowmere is more resilient and faster, and you can even loot the member of the Brotherhood that tries to take you out before you’ve joined their ranks.
Best of all, your contracts from the Night Mother will now yield more gold with this mod. That means it’s time to become the most feared and now the richest assassin in Skyrim.
Bleak Home By: RetroDaddy
The Bleak Home mod grants you a nice piece of land in Skyrim that you can keep all to yourself. It looks like a tiny shack on the outside but is a sprawling lair of caverns on the inside.
If you’re a vampire and prefer to hang out in darker areas, then this home is perfect for you. Or if you’re just roleplaying as an evil assassin, then this home can be your hidden headquarters.
Even though you live underground, you can still grow crops for sustenance. Also, this place is surprisingly tidy. It comes equipped with a garbage disposal that empties every 24 hours. You gotta live clean if you want to be a recluse.
Fus Roh Nya By: nikojaeger
Finally, you can complete your realistic Khajit Dragonborn build with the Fus Roh Nya mod. Now you can run around “nyaing” as an anthropomorphic cat (or any other race in Skyrim).
It’s just a simple replacement of the original sound for the shout. These kinds of mods have been around since Skyrim modding began, but this one is exceptionally kawaii.
Now, the next best thing would be to install a mod that lets you create a character of the catgirl race. I’m sure there’s a YouTube video with millions of views just waiting to be made there.
Those were some of the best Skyrim mods from last month. If you want to see more, then check out our best mods of July guide.
