Battlefield 1 Guide: Where to Find All 66 Field Manuals

Battlefield 1 features not only a packed offering of multiplayer modes, but a series of campaign missions known as War Stories. Within each chapter of these stories lies a ton of collectibles, including 66 Field Manuals. Collecting each and every one of these will, of course, grant you with achievements, as well as a few different weapon modifications.

Here’s the location of all 66 Field Manuals in Battlefield 1, separated by each War Story. It should be noted that not every chapter in every War Story contains field manuals, but the names of which chapters each is in has been listed.

Battlefield 1 War Story #1 – Through Mud and Blood (20 Total)

Over the Top

FM 1 – First, you’ll need to capture all three points in the village, then make your way up the hill and over the road until you hit a barrier made of overturned logs. This manual will be near a hole in the wall’s exit, near some empty shells and wreckage.

FM 2 – Once you reach the town being bombarded by enemy artillery, head up to the church and makeshift hospital. This manual will be in a crate near a line of pots.

FM 3 – While in the church, make your way out via the back entrance, then turn left. This manual will be in a container along the outside of the church.

FM 4 – This manual is found at Point D, the farm that has trenches dug out around it. Just look for the crate near the building on the right side.

FM 5 – Head up the road from the allied outpost until it hits a hill with a bunch of abandoned vehicles. Once you spot the ones with Anti-tank guns strapped on the back, look near the ground for the manual.

Fog of War

FM 6 – Near the beginning of this mission, you’ll have to fight your way through a series of gun emplacements. Once you near the forest area with a split in the road, head up the right side and you’ll find the crate at the top of the hill.

FM 7 – Stop at the second set of ruins you come across in this mission, and find the remains of a decimated church. Look around the area and you’ll find a bunker. Head inside and you’ll find the manual.

FM 8 – Make your way through the mission until you hit a giant metal bridge with sandbags at various points on it. If you look underneath the bridge, you’ll spot a patch of land that you can drop onto and grab the manual.

FM 9 – Once again continue through the mission, until you hit a series of bunkers built into a large hill. Head to the bunker all the way on your left to find the Field Manual’s crate.

FM 10 – This is found in the same location as FM 9. However, this time look for a supply depot and Weapons Station on the right side of the area’s entrance. If you check behind some dirt mount, you’ll find the manual.

Breakdown

FM 11 – Head to your first objective and once you’ve entered the village, look for a shack in the back left corner. The manual is inside.

FM 12 – If you look down the hill from the first village you’ll spot a large windmill. Head there and find the manual inside.

FM 13 – From the location of FM 12, find the village down and to the right. You’ll see a tank repair station in the village, and to the right of it a large building. This manual is inside the attic of that building.

FM 14 – In the very same village as FM 13, look for a large double-door building with a window and turret nest above the entrance. This manual is upstairs near the turret nest.

FM 15 – If you head back to the same village you found FM 11, you can take a left this time instead of a right. Head up and across a stone bridge, and find a farm house. Head to the backyard and you’ll see a tent, and across from that tent is the manual.

Steel on Steel

FM 16 – There’s a windmill just on the outskirts of the first village you come across. Search inside for the manual.

FM 17 – Head down from the first village and you’ll see yet another windmill off in the distance, next to a river. This manual is inside.

FM 18 – Now turn around and head in the exact opposite direction from the last windmill, not back to the village but past it. Find another windmill and head inside.

FM 19 – Continue through the mission until you are able to exit the first village and the town below it. As you exit the area you’ll run into another windmill next to a stone bridge. Head inside and grab the manual.

FM 20 – Of course, this one’s in another windmill. After finding FM 19, continue on until you see a windmill that sits on a hill and overlooks the town below the first village. You’ll need to drive over the bridge, across the river, and enter the windmill.

Battlefield 1 War Story #2 – Friends in High Places (6 Total)

Fall from Grace

FM 21 – After your plane has crashed behind enemy lines, you’ll need to make your way back. Find a bomed-out structure off of your main path, and find a shed in the backyard with the manual.

FM 22 – Head down the hill from your starting point, and find a large fire in the middle of some buildings. There’s a shed behind the building in the corner, and the manual sits next to it.

FM 23 – Keep going through the destroyed village until you hit the enemy encampment. There will be a tent on the right side, and you’ll find the manual inside.

FM 24 – You’ll need to reach the trenches first for this one. Once there, find an alarm tower near a huge tent. If you head down the path next to the tent, you’ll find steps that lead to some wooden planks. Follow the path they make and then jump over a trench gap, to find an area with broken crates and the field manual.

FM 25 – As you make your way through the trenches, you’ll run into a concrete bunker. Head inside and find the manual in a crate.

Fort Et Fidele

FM 26 – After you’ve crashed and gone into the blimp on foot to take out the Flak Gun, look on the right side of the path. There will be an exit you can see, with the manual on the other side. 

Battlefield 1 War Story #3 – Avanti Savoia! (10 Total)

O La Vittoria

FM 27 – Once you’ve captured the church, St. Anastasia, head through it and out the entrance on the other side. Head to the first building on your left, and find the manual inside.

FM 28 – Continue moving down the road to the right of the church. Once you hit a fork in the road, head left, and up to the trenches. Head in the trenches and find the manual inside.

FM 29 – Continue through the mission until you get the objective “Assault the Artillery Gun.” At some point, you’ll hit a very steep hill, and to the right of it a trench. This trench should have a wooden covering over it, so find the manual inside it.

FM 30 – Once you enter the underground bunker during the mission and take the stairs down into a large room,find the manual in a corner.

FM 31 – Disable the artillery gun, and head up the hill towards the next objective. Just behind the AA gun on top of the hill, you’ll see some trenches that you can enter. This manual is between the path that splits into the two sets of trenches.

O Tutti Accoppati

FM 32 – As you’re looking for Mateo, you’ll follow the trenches down the hill. Find a damaged barn, and look at the road next to it to find the manual.

FM 33 – After the defense segment, head down the hill and look around the trenches. There’s a bunker to the left, and inside you’ll find both Mateo’s unit and the manual.

FM 34 – Continue the mission until you have to enter the fort. If you follow the trenches on the right side to a path, you’ll eventually end up at a bunker. The manual is in a small room inside.

FM 35 – Enter the fort through the wall at the top of the hill, sneaking in. You’ll need to eliminate some soldiers first, but the manual sits along the exterior wall.

FM 36 – When you’re given the “Clear the Austrian Horn” objective, head to the very center of the fort, and down in to the bunker. You’re going to get a “Leaving Combat Area” notice, but if you’re quick you can run over the end of the rows of beds and find the manual on the left side. 

Battlefield 1 War Story #4 – The Runner (15 Total)

Cape Helles

FM 37 – Immediately after leaving the boat, head to your left and down the beach to find the manual.

FM 38 – Keep an eye out for the giant crater in the side of the mountain. You’ll see a trench dug out on the right side of the crater, and if you follow it you’ll find an area with the manual.

FM 39 – When you’ve made your way to the left side of the beach, you can climb up to the anti-tank gun encampment. The manual is next to the gun, resting in an alcove.

FM 40 – When you’re at the Helles Overlook (Point A), head up the hill and into the barn for the manual.

FM 41 – Once again at Helles Overlook, or Point A, find a house sitting next to the flag. The manual is in the backyard next to a shack.

The Runner

FM 42 – At the beginning of the mission head to a house on the far left of the side. You’ll know it’s the right place if it’s filled with sandbags and cannons. Find the manual inside.

FM 43 – Locate a dirt path on the left side of the village that leads out. If you follow the path, you’ll come to a large grassy field. The manual sits in the middle of the field, but it may take you a minute to locate.

FM 44 – Find the building with camo netting, just below the stone fort. The manual sits next to the building’s front door.

FM 45 – Follow the objectives, and head into the village until your reach the building with the large dome. The manual is inside right in the center.

FM 46 – When you have the “Inform Rear Command” objective, move towards it until you see a building with a missing roof on your left side. The manual sits against the building’s outside wall.

Be Safe

FM 47 – Find the three story sniper tower next to the fort, and climb up to the second floor where the manual sits.

FM 48 – Keep following the steps up the fort, and then find the left artillery battery. Move around it to find the manual near the battlements.

FM 49 – This is also next to the artillery battery. Find a building to your right when you enter the fort, with the manual inside.

FM 50 – Continue the mission until you enter the bunker hallway. You’ll find a room that ends in a dead-end with the manual.

FM 51 – See the mission through until its end when you get the “Capture the Courtyard” objective. Find a shed across from the entrance to the area, with the manual inside.

Battlefield 1 War Story #5 – Nothing is Written

Hidden in Plain Sight

FM 52 – At the very start of the mission, find a crashed series of train cars. The manual is inside the red car.

FM 53 – This manual is find to the left of the train crash. Follow the cliffs that function as steps and find the manual.

FM 54 – There’s a large rock that stands out to the left of the crash. The manual rests behind it.

FM 55 – Past the trains tracks and the crash, there’s a dirt path leading to a tent. The manual is to the right side of the path next to some rocks.

FM 56 – Again behind the crash, there’s a giant sand dune. Climb to the top of the dune and look for a tent. Head to the tent and find the manual next to some rocks.

Young Men’s Work

FM 57 – At the start of the chapter, turn directly around and find the village behind you. There are some canyons to the right of the village you can head into, to find the manual in an encampment.

FM 58 – Head up the hill across from the ruin, and find the manual scattered among some crates.

FM 59 – When you get to the objective with an Officer Location at the Weapon’s Depot, there’s a large white building in the corner of the base. The manual is on the bottom floor.

FM 60 – The objective “Dispatch Fake Message” will lead you to a village. There’s a tall water tower by this village, and if you climb up it, you can find the manual on top.

FM 61 – Again in the village where you fake the dispatch message, look for a small building just to the side of the main road. The manual lies inside.

Hear the Desert

FM 62 – Head towards the village that is marked as your first objective. Turn right when you reach the village, and find a double structure. If you head inside the small part of the structure you’ll find the manual.

FM 63 – Also in the first village, find the water tower off in the distance. Keep moving towards it, until you happen upon an encampment made up of sandbags. The manual is there by a rock.

FM 64 – Keep moving toward the water tower, then follow the train tracks to find the manual directly to the right of the tower.

FM 65 – If you find Capture Point C, there’ll be a small building with a blue door next to it. Head inside and up to the second floor, where you’ll find the manual.

FM 66 – Once again, find the water tower and head there. Once there, look down the hill and find a completely blown-out building. Head there and find the final manual.
