So many heroes.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Battleborn is finally out with its FPS/MOBA hybrid action. Like other MOBAs, the game’s strength is its collection of unique heroes. There are 25 in total at the moment, with a vast majority of them needing to be unlocked.

For you to get the most out of Battleborn, you’re probably going to want to unlock each and every one of the heroes available. It will take a bit of work, but none are so difficult where they’re impossible. Here’s how to get every character in Battleborn:

Completing the Prologue, which you have to do when you first boot the game up, unlocks your first seven characters:

  • Miko
  • Montana
  • Orendi
  • Oscar Mike
  • Rath
  • Thorn
  • Marquis

The rest of the Battleborn are unlocked by one of two ways. Reaching a specific Command Rank or completing a specific challenge. Here’s how to get each of those characters.

Shayne & Aroux – Reach Command Rank 6 or Complete 5 co-op missions/matches with at least one other player.

Reyna – Reach Command Rank 8 or get 50 assists in Versus.

Benedict – Reach Command Rank 10 or win 5 matches as a Peacekeeper (denoted by the green shield near the Battleborn’s name).

Galilea – Reach Command Rank 12 or kill 800 minions.

Ambra – Reach Command Rank 14 or win 5 matches as a Jennerit (denoted by the red triangle near the Battleborn’s name).

Whiskey Foxtrot – Reach Command Rank 16 or win 15 matches.

Kelvin –  Reach Command Rank 18 or win 5 matches as an Eldrid (denoted by a golden flame).

El Dragon – Reach Command Rank 20 or win 5 matches as an LLC (denoted by an orb with one of the crystal stars on it).

Phoebe –  Reach Command Rank 22 or kill 50 enemy players in any mode.

Toby – Reach Command Rank 24 or win 5 matches as a Rogue (denoted by a skull).

Boldur – Reach Command Rank 26 or complete the story mission “The Experiment” (Episode 6).

Caldarius –  Reach Command Rank 28 or complete the story mission “The Renegade” (Episode 2).

ISIC –  Reach Command Rank 30 or complete the story mission “The Algorithm” (Episode 1).

Attikus – Reach Command Rank 32 or kill 800 Jennerit enemies.

Melka – Reach Command Rank 34 or complete the story mission “The Heliophage” (Episode 7).

Kleese – Reach Command Rank 36 or earn a Silver on every story mission.

Deande – Reach Command Rank 38 or complete the story mission “The Heliophage” on the advanced difficulty.

Ghalt – Reach Command Rank 40 or earn a Silver on every story mission on the advanced difficulty.

As you can see, you can unlock all characters organically, although you’ll need quite a bit of play time. The challenges present faster alternatives in exchange for a bit of skill. Happy hunting.
