IS THERE CO-OP MULTIPLAYER IN ASSASSIN’S CREED ORIGINS?
Assassin’s Creed Origins is finally here, and players are sure to be hugely excited to finally explore its sizable Ancient Egyptian open-world. Although the series has always traditionally been a single-player focused experience, previous entries have introduced multiplayer modes, and as such, players will no doubt be wondering whether Ubisoft has included the same features in Origins. In particular, with respect to co-op multiplayer modes that we’ve seen featured in other Ubisoft franchises such as Far Cry.
However, just as Assassin’s Creed Origins shakes up the gameplay formula of the single-player campaign, so too does it break the mold of tradition and exclude a multiplayer mode entirely. If you were looking forward to roaming across the Giza pyramids with a buddy, we’re sorry to tell you that co-op gameplay isn’t an option in Assassin’s Creed Origins.
While it’s highly unlikely that the game could get a co-op multiplayer mode added in via DLC or a free update following its release, Ubisoft’s know-how implementing the feature in other franchises certainly doesn’t write off the possibility. There’s a small chance that subsequent co-operative modes could be added in the future, and if that is the case, we’ll be sure to update this post and keep you informed.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is due to release on Xbox One, PC, and PS4, on Oct. 27. For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page.
