There’s an absolute ton of stuff to do in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Its sprawling world is littered with different icons and markers on your map, directing you to all manner of main missions and side content. One of the more lucrative kinds of content you can take on are War Contracts. Problem is, these can be pretty easy to miss entirely if you don’t know where you’re looking. Here’s how to get War Contracts in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, what they are, and what you’ll get for completing them.

What War Contracts Are in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Let’s start off with the basics, then. These contracts are an additional sort of side quest that’ll task you with completing a random objective while you’re out on your adventure. For example, one might task you to kill five Spartans, while another may require you to win a battle for Athenians twice.

Essentially, you can complete objectives while you’re ticking off main missions or side quests. It’s definitely worth your time to get them and complete them. They’re essentially additional rewards for something you’d likely be doing anyway!

This makes these contracts a pretty useful element of Odyssey, especially when you factor in the rewards you get for completing them. Problem is, it can be difficult to get them at first if you don’t know where you’re looking. So let’s talk you through that.

How to Get War Contracts in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

To get them, you’ll need to first make your way to any of the towns in the game. Here, you should find a message board. These can also be tracked down by looking for an icon that has three horizontal lines stacked on top of each other.

If you interact with a message board in the game, you’ll have the ability to get them that are currently available. This applies to the game’s Bounties, too, should you be curious on how to track those down.

While they are certainly not overly challenging in Odyssey, you’ll still likely want to know what rewards you’re getting for the time you’re putting in. After all, this spilled blood doesn’t come cheap!

What War Contracts Give You in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

These are generally good in the game for those times when you’re struggling for a bit of cash. Perhaps there’s a shiny new weapon you want to get your hands on, or you just want to make some upgrades to your existing equipment.

Either way, making sure you take on as many of these extra missions as you can at any one time in the game will ensure you’ve always got a steady, albeit fairly small revenue stream coming in.

That’s not all though! These special jobs can also grant you a little bit of XP for all your hard, murderous work. The assassin life maybe isn’t so bad after all!

Fortunately, you won’t have to worry about having to turn them in once you’ve completed them. As soon as you complete one, you’ll automatically be rewarded with your Drachmae or XP. That’ll cut out plenty of unnecessary traveling around, at least.

That’s pretty much all there is to tell you about how to get War Contracts in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and what they are.
