The newest update in Animal Crossing New Horizons brings a bunch of new ways to get flowers. Here’s how to get tulips in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
How to Get Tulips in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Where to Buy Them
You will be able to purchase tulips from Nook’s Cranny if they are natively found on your island. However, if they aren’t you’ll still be able to get a hold of them.
In the plaza near the Resident Services building, you will find Leif, who has set up a small cart selling flowers. He has a rotating stock they will change daily and can contain flowers that aren’t found on your island.
Finally, you can buy them from a friend’s island. If tulips are found on their island their Nook’s Cranny store will sell them. All you have to do is go into the cabinet and purchase the seeds.
Finding Tulips
There are two ways to find tulips in Animal Crossing. You can have a friend mail you the seeds or visit your island to drop them off.
The other way to find tulips will require going to the Resident Services building and purchasing a Nook Miles Ticket. You can use the ticket to travel to mystery islands, which are filled with all types of flowers.
You can use your shovel to uproot them and bring back to plant on your own island.
How to Breed for Hybrids
In order to breed different colors of tulips, you’ll need to plant specific colors next to each other and water them with a watering can. Here’s a list of all the possible colors. Do note the difference between “seed” and “hybrid.” Seed simply means that the plants must have been grown from seeds bought from stores and NPCs, while hybrids are reproduced flowers.
- Black: Seed Red + Seed Red
- Orange: Seed Red + Seed Yellow
- Pink: Seed Red + Seed White
- Purple: Hybrid Orange + Hybrid Orange
