Dead Rising 4
Info on Dead Rising 4 might have been leaked a few days prior to Microsoft’s E3 conference this year, but that certainly didn’t stop the reveal from being any less awesome. Series favorite Frank West is back in this trailer, and we get to see him get up to his silly antics as he proceeds to beat the crap out of a massive horde of zombies.
Dead Rising 4 looks like it intends on retaining the series’ trademark sense of humor, and that is most definitely a good thing. Dead Rising 4 doesn’t have a release date just yet, but it’s set to be released for the Xbox One and Windows 10.
Prey
Rumors were flying around that Prey 2 would be announced at Bethesda’s E3 conference this year, and those turned out to be true. It’s not actually a sequel, but it’s meant to be a reimagining of the IP. Developed by Arkane Studios, Prey will have players explore a singular large area and revisit smaller portions of the area during certain points in the story. Players will also get to choose Morgan’s gender.
Prey is set to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC some time in 2017.
Tekken 7
While we did already know that Tekken 7 would be showing up at E3 at some point or another, its trailer at the Microsoft conference left a lot of fans in awe. We saw the return of two iconic characters from the series, Akuma and Heihachi, as they duked it out in a colorful cutscene. Honestly, the cutscene alone would’ve been enough to impress fans, but we also got to see a cool, seamless transition from the cutscene to direct gameplay.
Tekken 7 is set to be released for the PS4 and Xbox One some time in 2017.
ReCore
Out of all the exclusive games that got announced at the Microsoft E3 conference last year, ReCore has to be the most intriguing one. The game made an reappearance at this year’s Microsoft conference, and it came back with a stylish new trailer. We got introduced to two new characters, as well as a look at some of the platforming and action gameplay. ReCore looks stylish as hell, and is still one of the most interesting new IPs we’ve seen in recent times.
ReCore is set to be released for the Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 13.
Watch Dogs 2
Watch Dogs 2 might be Ubisoft’s worst kept secret in the world, but that certainly didn’t stop its E3 trailer from looking fun and lively. The trailer takes us on a tour around San Francisco as it shifts from the original’s serious tone to a much more laid back one. Not only does the gameplay look a lot more refined, the characters themselves also look like they might actually be a joy to get to know.
Watch Dogs 2 is set to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15.
Resident Evil 7
Sony’s E3 conference had a pretty good showing, but Resident Evil 7 stands out as a really nice surprise for longtime fans of the series. From the trailer alone, you wouldn’t have been able to guess it was a Resident Evil game simply because of how recent entries in the series have gravitated towards the action/shooting genre. The trailer looked genuinely creepy and scary and gory, so it was great to see it unveiled as a Resident Evil game because it was clearly making an attempt to return to its horror roots.
Resident Evil 7 is set to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 24, 2017.
Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima has been teasing his new PS4 exclusive project for quite a while now, but he finally gave us a first look at his game at Sony’s E3 conference. It’s called Death Stranding, and it’s going to feature The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus in what looks a lot like a horror game. We know that the PT/Silent Hills game didn’t quite work out, but Death Stranding kind of looks like the next best realization of the dream collaboration between Reedus and Kojima. Also, Kojima still has great taste in music, apparently.
Death Stranding is currently in development for the PS4.
Spider-Man
There were rumors about Sony backing an exclusive Spider-Man game, and it looks like that’s 100% true. It’s being handled by Insomniac Games, and will feature Spidey in a slick new suit as he swings around New York City fighting crime. We haven’t really seen a good Spider-Man game in recent years, but this one looks like it could knock it out of the park.
Spider-Man is currently in development for the PS4.
The Last Guardian
We’ve heard so much about The Last Guardian, and it’s finally gotten a release date, as well as a brand new look at the game’s enemy types. We got a glimpse of an evil-looking Trico, other humanoid enemies chasing our protagonists around, and more exciting platforming set-pieces. The Last Guardian looks as gorgeous as usual, and more importantly, we know now when the game will officially launch.
The Last Guardian is set to be released for the PS4 on October 25.
Legend of Zelda
Nintendo kicked off their Treehouse stream with a beautiful showing of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Not only was the trailer itself aesthetically pleasing, it also showed off many elements of the game including cooking, exploration, and cutting down trees. It also gave us a good look at the game’s open world setting.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is in development for the Wii U and NX.
