5. Elden Ring

Elden Ring

FromSoftware’s collaboration with George R. R. Martin has been rather elusive since its reveal, with the developer basically dropping under the radar.

Yet, Elder Ring has retained a rather large level of anticipation among its fans. Hopefully we’ll hear more about it soon.

4. Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil has a strong fanbase, so it’s not surprising that the next mainline chapter, interestingly titled Resident Evil Village (with a Roman numeral “8” cleverly hidden in plain sight in the title) is in the thoughts of many.

A while has passed since the release of the seventh chapter of the series, and Capcom has been successful with remakes in the meanwhile. Will Village deliver? We’ll have to wait and see.

3. Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West

Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn conquered a special place in the hearts of many with its likable protagonist and beautiful post-apocalyptic world. Besides, how can you not love mecha dinosaurs?

Horizon Forbidden West looks extremely promising, even if we haven’t yet seen much about it. That being said, many can’t wait to step into Aloy’s boots once again.

It was also our editor’s choice for most anticipated this year. Check out our full top five right here.

2. God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok

Sony Santa Monica’s God of War completely revolutionized the formula of the series in terms of both gameplay and narrative.

Now, we’re getting a sequel, but not very much is known about it. Yet, God of War’s appeal is strong enough that many can’t wait to get their hands on the new adventure of Kratos.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Sequel

The Legend of Zelda

While almost nothing is known about the sequel of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild (it doesn’t even have an official title yet), the popularity of its predecessor is massive.

The teaser trailer we saw at E3 2019 left more questions than answers, but millions are eagerly awaiting to see more. We don’t yet know if Nintendo will deliver this year, but we certainly hope so.

That’s it for our Readers’ Choice Most Anticipated Game of 2021. Did you vote for one of the winners, or maybe your personal choice isn’t in the list above? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
