Make Sure to Catch These Animal Crossing Fish and Bugs Before June Ends

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The wildlife within the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is ever-changing. Depending on the time of the year and time of day, different fish and bugs will be able to be caught. So every time that a new month comes along, there are some creatures that will go away until it comes back to your island, which can sometimes take a very long time.

Now that June 2020 is coming to a close, there are five bugs that will be leaving your Animal Crossing island and will not be available in July. Surprisingly, there are no fish leaving this month, which makes your critter-collecting much easier to manage.

Here are the bugs leaving Animal Crossing: New Horizons in June and how/where you can catch them.

Ladybug

Make Sure to Catch These Fish and Bugs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Before June Ends

This cute little ladybug is pretty common in Animal Crossing: New Horizons but in case you have yet to find one, make sure to catch it before the end of the month.

It can be found sitting atop flowers on your island during the hours of 8 am to 5 pm and only appears in March – June, and October.

You can also sell it for 200 bells if you need some quick cash or sell it to Flick for 300, who will pop up sporadically on your island to buy your critters.

Peacock Butterfly

This gorgeous Peacock Butterfly in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be found flying above hybrid flowers on your island. If you don’t know what those are or how to get them, we have a dedicated guide for that.

After June comes to an end, you can say bye-bye-butterfly because you won’t be seeing this baby until March of 2021! Of course, you can always time travel, but that’s illegal… I think.

Look out for this one during the hours of 4 am to 7 pm and make sure to have that bug net ready to go.

Pill Bug

Alright, so when it comes to this here Pill Bug, there’s not much to it. This critter can be found hiding under rocks during every month of the year besides July and August –guess it doesn’t like the heat.

It’ll be out during the hours of 11 pm to 4 pm and as long as you’re constantly hitting rocks with your tools or breaking them with your shovel, you’ll come across them super easily.

Just make sure to have your net out before it scurries away into the grass.

Violin Beetle

Violin Beetles will be leaving in June but don’t worry too much because they’ll be right back on your island in just three months, in September.

To find these odd-looking beetles, check out some of the tree stumps that are on your island. They will be perched atop of them and if you don’t have any stumps, get that axe out and start chopping.

Luckily, Violin Beetles can be found at any time of the day, making them very simple to track down.

Yellow Butterfly

And last but not least, we have the common Yellow Butterfly. You can find this one any time between 4 am and 7 pm, so all day essentially.

These are found hovering all over the island so just go about your daily tasks and you’ll eventually run into them.

This one will disappear at the end of the month and won’t be back until September, but you still have a couple of days until July comes to scoop it up in that net of yours.
