Another month means another set of Xbox One games to get suitably hyped for. February may not have typically been the busiest of months for video game releases in the past, but 2019 looks set to change that.

There’s a veritable feast of titles releasing in February 2019 on Xbox One, from strategy games like Wargroove, through to more shared world shooter action in the form of BioWare’s Anthem. We’re here to run you through some of the highlights, before providing you with the full list of releases down below.

Though it may not immediately grab your attention with its title, Wargroove is the first game you should absolutely have on your radar. This turn-based strategy game takes plenty of inspiration from Nintendo’s old Advance Wars series, with players making their way across a grid-based map, build their economy, and build even more powerful units.

There’s even a map editor mode and both splitscreen and online multiplayer options, too, so there’s plenty to sink your teeth into once the single-player element’s done.

Moving on, the biggest release of February 2019 for Xbox One fans is without a doubt going to be Crackdown 3. Players will find themselves in New Providence, an island teeming with bad guys, and the sinister TerraNova Worldwide corporation. It’s down to players to put an end to their plans, with plenty of explosions.

As we’ve seen in previous entries in the series, Crackdown 3 will see players leveling up various abilities as they play through the story until they’re effectively a superhero agent of justice. There’s a ton of insane weaponry at your disposal, too, and what’s more, you can explore this open-world island on your own or with friends.

Plus, with the power of the cloud, Xbox One owners will be able to play in the online Wrecking Zone mode, which grants an unreal level of destruction not possible on just your console’s computational power alone.

If Crackdown 3 isn’t your cup of tea, fear not, as Far Cry New Dawn brings post-apocalyptic shooting back to Hope County, Montana, the setting of 2018’s Far Cry 5. Or, if you fancy a romp across post-apocalyptic Russia instead, Metro Exodus releases on Feb. 15, too, offering up non-linear levels and more engaging narrative.

Finally, we’ve got Anthem, releasing for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Feb. 22 courtesy of BioWare. Though its VIP demo this weekend just gone wasn’t smooth sailing for everyone involved, it did give players a chance to check out their Javelin suit for the first time, and bunch a load of cute lil’ space bunnies, too.

Set to allow four players to embark on space adventures together in their Javelins, taking down gargantuan beasts and leveling up as they progress, Anthem looks like yet another title players will be able to spend hundreds of hours grinding away in, in order to get the best loadout for their playstyle.
