Ever since the launch of the new version 3.0. update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, players have been having loads of fun creating amazing (and very inappropriate) custom stages using the new creation tools that all users now have access to.
If you go to the most popular custom stages section in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate right now, you’ll probably see some very silly and naughty designs that have made their up to the top of the charts due to their NSFW designs.
Luckily, there actually some pretty neat custom stages shining amongst the trash, that all of you should definitely take a look at.
Smash 64 Throwback
I made the desk from the smash 64 intro in the stage builder, came out pretty 👌 I think pic.twitter.com/EDe4iYLAC2

Do you guys remember the feeling of turning on a Nintendo 64 and booting up your copy of the original Super Smash Bros. only to watch the iconic opening in that bedroom?
Well, this Twitter user wanted to recreate that scene, so he designed exactly the same desk, and if you see the comparison between the two, he was pretty spot on with everything!
We never got the chance to play on this stage in the original game, so thank you to G-SUS for turning our Smash Bros. dreams into a reality.
Squidward’s Fork
These custom Smash Bro stages are getting out of hand pic.twitter.com/NprWEVAf7m

Who doesn’t remember that scene in Spongebob when Squidward was eating a sponge cake to only then start choking on a fork from laughing so hard at Spongebob.
Apparently, this scene is pivotal to the children’s television series as someone just had to recreate it for a Smash Bros. Ultimate stage, because come on, who doesn’t want to have an epic battle on top of a squid’s neck?
Waluigi Really Wants to Be in Smash
https://twitter.com/chiliastic/status/1119646912968179712
There’s a group of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans out there who would die if it meant that Waluigi would be added to the Smash roster; yes, he is an assist trophy now, but apparently that just doesn’t cut it for the Waluigi fan-base.
Now that fans can build whatever stages they want, this Twitter user created a stage based on Waluigi himself, okay I wouldn’t say “based”; the stage is literally Waluigi’s face, with his nose being a prominent aspect of the stage.
The Realm of WAH! is definitely somewhere that I need to be.
Yes, You Can Pet the Dog
With some creative use of the stage builder, you can pet the dog in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate pic.twitter.com/Wg40LAOmaS
— Can You Pet the Dog? (@CanYouPetTheDog) April 19, 2019
With all of this talk about petting dogs lately, one player has gone out of their way to create a custom stage just so you can pet a dog.
Just by hitting a switch on top of a giant hand, you can move it towards a dog, and commence the petting motion. I guess your fighter isn’t necessarily petting the dog per se but it still counts to me…
Back to Kanto
Pokemon Red/Blue Battle! Custom Stage Builder is nice #SmashBros #SmashBrosUltimate #NintendoSwitch pic.twitter.com/volA85FfuR
— SSP | Snormanda (@SnormandaSSB) April 20, 2019
Wow, Snormanda on Twitter has really stepped it up, and as a Pokemon fan myself, this recreation of a Pokemon battle between Charmander and Pikachu is super cool.
Not sure how much fun it would be to actually have a full-on Smash Bros. fight on this stage, as it’s sort of hard to tell which parts of the stage are platforms, but regardless, it’s a wonderful creation.
Super Dragon Smash Fighterz Ultimate
Goku might never make it in Smash, but that doesn't mean we can't dream. Anyways, I built the "Kame House" in Ultimate! I'm really enjoying the stage builder, definitely a great addition to the game.

— Carlos Mejia (@sparkabomb) April 19, 2019
We will probably never see an actual Dragon Ball Z character make it into Super Smash Bros., but one can dream.
Sparkabomb had a dream, and that dream was to create the home of Master Roshi Kame House island from the Dragon Ball series. Goku, Krillin, and a few other warriors come here to train with the master, which makes it a perfect destination for Super Smash Bros. battles.
The user even threw in a Mii Fighter based on Master Roshi himself –what a treat!
Poke Floats Is Back
The guys over at GameXplain recreated a somewhat faithful version of Super Smash Bros. Melee’s infamous stage, Poke Float. Showcasing several different Pokemon from Gen 1 and Gen 2, Poke Floats forces the combatants to jump from float to float as they fly through the sky.
They designed a couple of Pokemon featured in the original stage like Snorlax, Chikorita, and Onix, but in balloon form.
There was probably a good reason why this stage was never brought back by Nintendo in Smash Ultimate, nevertheless, you can all (sort of) play it now using this custom-built stage.
Bob-ombs Away
My first custom stage: Bob-omb Battlefield! from r/SmashBrosUltimate
The first sprawling stage in Super Mario 64 is faithfully recreated here; you got the start cannon, the balls rolling down the top hill, a Chain-Chomp, and even that really tall floating island with the tree on it.
Perfect for four players, you and your friends will think back to the good ol’ days of playing the classic N64 platformer.
Thanks for checking out our list of some of the best custom stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! If any of you have any recommendations, be sure to send us some stages to play down in the comments below.
