Coming up with a name for a pet or any other living thing is hard. A good name is important, but naming living things is a low-stakes game since we all are essentially ephemeral. On the other hand, naming a long-lasting island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a daunting task.
This thing will theoretically outlast you as long as your save file doesn’t get deleted or corrupted. You’re also going to spend a lot of time just laying out and relaxing on this island so you’ll want it to be something fun, yet not embarrassing to show someone else.
Look Around the Island
First, I would like to suggest that you give your island a little once-, twice- or thrice over. This should help you get a feel for the personality of your island. Is it shaped like a face? Does it already feel like home? What kind of fruit is native to it?
These are all very important questions that can help you come up with a name. Also, you’ll want to do this early on before you build the bonfire. Otherwise, you won’t get any time to take a look around and get a feel for what your island is all about.
