A Portable Music Player
The first of our Death Stranding PC mods that needs to exist is a portable music player. Death Stranding has an absolutely amazing soundtrack and it’s a shame that its music plays only in specific locations and instances.
You can listen to music in your private room but once you’re out and about in the world, you only get the ambiance of nature and the occasional BT.
We’ve all gone on long trips or walks while listening to music so adding a portable music player would increase immersion within the game and give us an on-demand playlist to listen to.
Who wouldn’t want to jam out to some great tunes as you make a cross-country trip to save the world?
Delivery Service Vehicle Skins
A more humorous mod, it would be great to see vehicle skins that look exactly like a UPS truck or a FedEx truck. In general, fancier and more intricate vehicle skins would be a great addition but delivery service skins would hammer in the fact that you essentially play as a mailman during the apocalypse.
Vehicles are a very important mode of transportation that we frequently use within Death Stranding so we might as well be entertained by the vehicle’s appearance as we make long journeys across the country.
A mod could also add in a pizza delivery skin as well or even Uber Eats. Sam Porter Bridges provides a variety of delivery services.
A Skip For Die-Hardman’s “Tutorial” Dialogue
Don’t get me wrong. I love Die-Hardman but he had one too many dialogues explaining key gameplay mechanics that interrupt you way too often. Often, these dialogues begin with “Sam!” and drift into a lengthy discussion about some piece of equipment.
Sometimes these dialogues show up one after the other depending on where you are in the game so that just adds to how annoying they are.
Adding in a simple method that allows you to skip these discussions would be a great quality of life mod that keeps you from getting taken out of immersion.
Die-Hardman is a wonderful character within Death Stranding but he leans over your shoulder a little too much sometimes.
Cosmetic Accessories for BB
Like all of the other characters within Death Stranding, our darling BB deserves some fashion as well. As you may know, BB is naked throughout the entire game and it would be cute to see BB wearing a hat or something silly that absolutely has no reason to be there.
Since they’re cosmetics, they won’t do anything for the plot and they’d simply just be fun additions like that weird cup noodle hat Noctis has in Final Fantasy XV.
It would bring a smile to so many faces to see our cute and adorable BB serving some looks in some snazzy sunglasses.
Different Vehicles
In the game, we only really have access to two vehicles that we can customize. It would be rad to cruise across the country on a normal bike or maybe even a skateboard.
I also wouldn’t be opposed to a Death Stranding PC mod that adds in fancy luxury cars too that you’ll subsequently crash seconds after you get in.
That delivery vehicle skin mod that we wish for should also apply to this mod as well.
Who wouldn’t want to go fast and furious in a Lamborghini decked out in UPS colors?
Replacing the BT Detector with the Pixar Lamp
On our list of Death Stranding PC mods, this final entry would greatly please my sense of humor on a level you don’t understand. I mean, it just makes sense.
Swapping the flashing BT detector on your shoulder with the Pixar lamp would be one of the simplest, quirkiest, and wildest cosmetic changes you could make.
The Pixar lamp literally moves around in almost the exact same way as the BT detector so it’ll seem like nothing even changed. You’ll just have a cute little lamp accessorizing your shoulder.
Though, these are only some of the mods we’d love to see in Death Stranding’s PC version, which is a pretty great port. In the comments, let us know some other mods you’d want to see too.
