July is almost here and the Nintendo Switch is shaping up to have some pretty big releases for the month. From a sandbox RPG to a cooperative first-person shooter, there should be plenty of different options here for Switch owners.
Here are the four best upcoming Switch games for July 2019.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 – July 12
Dragon Quest Builders 2 takes the best parts of blocky open sandbox games like Minecraft and Terraria and throws elements from Dragon Quest into the mix.
By connecting online and playing with friends, you can work together to rebuild a fantasy world by way of crafting, battling, and exploring.
There are way more RPG elements here that aren’t in Minecraft, so if you’re looking for a slightly deeper crafting/exploration experience with a colorful twist, then DQB2 should be right up your alley on Switch.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order – July 19
If you’ve been missing the Avengers crew after the events of Endgame (like we are) then jumping into this new Marvel Ultimate Alliance game might fill that superhero hole in your heart.
The Black Order is a Switch exclusive that can be played with up to four people –locally or online– and lets you choose from a large roster of heroes like Captain Marvel, Star-Lord, Miles Morales, and many many more.
These games are very good at just letting you pummel bad guys with a bunch of different flashy abilities, going from one area to the next. If a mindless action multiplayer game sounds fun to you, then Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 should be on your radar next month.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood – July 26
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a new entry in the long-running first-person shooter series and stars twin sisters who are trying to uncover the whereabouts of their lost father, BJ Blazckowicz –the main character from Wolfenstein II.
This is the first time that a modern Wolfenstein game has included a cooperative two-player story mode and that’s very exciting given how good the gunplay is in the series. By working together with a friend, get ready to pull off some sweet moves to take down enemies.
There are tons of customization options in Youngblood that allow you to set up your own personal gameplay experience thanks to different gadgets, loadouts, cosmetics, and a few other things.
Considering how well the Switch port of Doom ran, Bethesda’s newest Wolfenstein game is sure to be a great shooter to check out when it comes out next month.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses – July 26
Ever since the renaissance of the Fire Emblem series, Nintendo has been keeping the games on the 3DS, never bringing them to the Switch, until now.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the first mainline FE game to come to console since Radiant Dawn back in 2007, so fans of the tactical RPG have been waiting quite some time for this.
What makes Three Houses stand apart from the other entries is that you start the game off as a professor. After choosing one of the three houses (ala Harry Potter), you then get to roam the school and bond with your students by teaching them special skills.
The game then goes into the future in which you will have to fight against your old students in a war that pits the different houses against one another.
The deep and tactical RPG will bring tons of drama and action to the Switch once it launches next month on the 26th.
