We’ve got some good news for you: Spider-Man 2 does have a New Game Plus mode as of Mar. 7, 2024.

The feature came as part of the title’s New Game Plus update, which also brought with it a bevy of other improvements that include the ability to change the time of day and replay story missions.

How to Start Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus

As such, all you need to do to be able to access the game’s New Game Plus feature is clear the game at least once and make sure you have the 1.002 update downloaded.

Once that’s done, it’s fairly easy to get your run rolling. After you load up the game and get to the file select screen, tab over to any file you’ve completed the game with. Then, press the Square button to use said file’s data for your New Game Plus playthrough, which is created in the next available save slot.

You can then select what difficulty you want your playthrough to be before it starts. It should be noted that the difficulty level doesn’t affect your ability to get the New Game Plus-related Trophy — that being Once More, With Feeling — so you can go with whichever level you’d prefer most.

As for what carries over into a New Game Plus run of Spider-Man 2, it’s everything and the kitchen sink.

In addition to all of the suits you unlocked in your previous run and your characters’ levels, you also get all of your gadgets and their upgrades, every ability regardless of if it’s unlocked via the story, and any and all Suit Tech upgrades you purchased.

Not only that, but there are new upgrades and gear to unlock that are only available via an enhanced replay. You can get new golden variants of all your gadgets, additional Suit Tech abilities, and even a few new suits.

And that concludes our guide on whether or not there is a New Game Plus mode in Spider-Man 2. As always, if you’re looking for more handy tips and tricks, make sure to peruse our further coverage, including our explainer on its story and ending.
