When Can You Preload Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Nintendo has confirmed to Twinfinite that Super Mario Bros. Wonder can be preloaded as of Oct. 13. There isn’t a confirmed time for Oct. 13 when preloads will begin, but previous Nintendo releases suggest that midnight (local time) going into the 13th will be when it occurs.

On Oct. 13, the game will automatically begin downloading onto your Switch. You’ll be able to see the progress of the download from your home screen via the little horizontal bar on the game’s tile image if you’re using your console when it begins the preload process.

If no download bar appears, chances are the game has already preloaded and is ready for you to begin playing on Oct. 20.

How to Preload Super Mario Wonder

To preload Super Mario Bros. Wonder, all you need to do is preorder the game via the Nintendo eShop. Simply select the option to Preorder and follow the on-screen instructions.

You’ll then get a notification email and will see a Super Mario Bros. Wonder tile on your Nintendo Switch’s home screen. The game won’t be playable until the 20th, but the game will preload automatically on your system on October 13th.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is available for preorder right now until its release on Oct. 20, 2023. Purchasing the game today will cost you $59.99 and award your account with 300 Gold Points.

You can claim an extra pre-order bonus is if you purchase the physical game from Walmart or similar stores, where you will receive a pack of ten trading cards, a poster and stickers!

What Is Super Mario Wonder’s File Size?

Nintendo has just updated its pre-order page for Super Mario Bros. Wonder and has included the official download size for the game.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder will take up exactly 3.5 GB of data. Both digital and physical editions of the game both have the same install size. It isn’t yet confirmed if a day-1 update requiring additional data is happening, though we expect that will be the case if previous Nintendo releases are any indication.

When Will Super Mario Bros. Wonder Unlock?

Once the game is preordered and preloaded, you will then be able to see Super Mario Bros. Wonder on your Nintendo Switch. However, it won’t be playable until the official release date.

According to Nintendo, Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be available to play on Oct. 20, 2023. There is no specific time mentioned, but we assume the game will either unlock at the same time for everyone globally or will be available from midnight local time on the day in question.

Once you preload the game, you won’t have to worry about waiting to launch your new game as it will be on your Nintendo Switch as soon as it is released. At most, there may be a quick Day 1 patch that needs to be downloaded as the game starts up.

And that’s everything you need to know regarding the preload and unlock times for Super Mario Bros. Wonder. For more news and guides related to the game, check out the list below.
