The collapse wasn’t just focused in the center, as previously thought. It turns out the center and the north took the brunt of it. However, most of the new biome that introduced Mega City remains untouched. Anvil Square has been entirely annihilated but is the only map location that has been replaced.

New Named Locations in Chapter 4 Season 3

There are three new named locations to explore in the new season.

Rumble Ruins

This region takes over where Anvil Square was previously. It also makes up the temple region where Optimus Prime appears in the cinematic trailer. This will likely be the new high-traffic drop location, as it sits almost dead center of the map. That means almost every jump line will go right over it. Plenty of chests are around the area to loot up, but it is wise to avoid the direct temple.

Creeky Compound

Nestled between Rumble Ruins and Shady Stilts is Creeky Compound. This large concentration of buildings is sure to draw plenty of player attention. The fact that it sits almost directly east of the Citadel will mean a lot of people drop there and then quickly make their way inward to the new location. There are a lot of tight spaces in Creeky Compound, so this is definitely one of those named locations to avoid until you are well-equipped.

Shady Stilts

In an effort to stave off future fissures or collapses, a new location has been made of raised houses. This is perhaps a location created to make up for the homes lost in Anvil Square (RIP). This named location is found in the northern collapsed region. This whole area is up on cliffs with bridges between the houses. The water makes you an easy target, so it’s best to avoid that. Truly your best method for getting around this area, if you must, are the grind vines all over.

The Apparatus

This landmark isn’t the far east of Rumble Ruins. For that reason, you really need to avoid it. The mechanism on top definitely seems close to the portal from the Citadel. That was the whole reason for the Chapter 4 Season 2 map change. This might be a location to watch out for as the season progresses. In the meantime, it’s maybe not the best location to drop. You’ll find the NPC Trace up on top of this landmark.

Slap N’ Gone

The gas station that used to be west of Slappy Shores is, well, gone. The coffee shop that happened to be on the other side of the road is just fine, though. You can still use the mobile gas tank near the broken road. If you’re feeling up to getting muddy, the garage part of the gas station still exists. You’ll have to jump into the mud and use the ascender to get up to it.

Sunswoon Lagoon

Halfway between Creeky Compound and the Citadel will be a little line of brown. If you journey to it, you’ll find this cozy landmark. While the area is certainly muddy, the river that runs through it is useful for washing off. If you land on the east side of the new area, you’ll have to run through Creeky Compound as the quickest way to get there, and that’s a bad idea.

Hidden Ruins

If you prefer your locations to be out of the way, this might be your new favorite drop. It’s not that far north of Sunswoon Lagoon, either. If you’re tired of mud and swimming, this is a decent place to ambush unsuspecting players. However, you also need to be mindful that you don’t get trapped inside by encroaching players yourself.
