Where to Find Minecraft Tadpoles

Much like their frog and frogspawn counterparts, tadpoles can be found in bodies of water within Swamp biomes and Mangrove Swamp biomes.

For the uninitiated, Swamp biomes mostly consist of shallow ponds with discolored water and lily pads, as well as discolored grass, and oak trees covered in vines. Meanwhile, Mangrove Swamps consist of huge trees with overgrown roots, as well as large bodies of water and Mud blocks.

If you find tadpoles out in the wild and fancy collecting them for your in-game aquarium, you can thankfully use a bucket to scoop them up in, much akin to how you can catch fish in a bucket in the game.

Interestingly, the color of the frog will vary depending on what biome the tadpole grows up in. For instance, if the tadpole grows up in a cold biome, this will result in it developing into a Cold frog (green). Meanwhile, a warm biome will result in Warm frogs (grey) and a hot biome will result in Temperate frogs (orange). Pretty cool, eh?
