Unlocking Newcastle in Apex Legends

Unlock Newcastle Currency Cost Screen

To be able to play any new Legends/characters in Apex Legends, they must first be unlocked. To unlock a new Legend you have two options.

Using Legend Tokens

The first option is to spend 12,000 Legend Tokens. You gain 600 Legend Tokens per level up. If you started at zero Legend Tokens, it would take 20 levels to reach the required amount. If you have reached the max level of 500, you will still technically level up and gain Legend Tokens, your level just won’t raise.

Using APEX Coins

The second option is to spend 750 APEX Coins. The lowest amount you can buy is 1,000 APEX Coins for $9.99. However, the premium battle pass will award players 1,300 APEX Coins for reaching level 110.

Newcastle Launch Bundle

There is also a bundle in the Featured section of the in-game store for 3,000 APEX Coins ($39.99). It includes:

  • Newcastle unlock
  • Heroic Command Legendary Newcastle skin
  • Military Made Legendary Rampage skin
  • Duty. Fidelity. Honor. Epic Holo

Once you have Newcastle unlocked you may choose him at the selection screen when playing Duos, Trios, or Arenas. This brings the total number up to 21 playable legends. Even still, new Legends are a big deal, so if you don’t get first pick on the selection, there’s a chance someone else will beat you to it.

This is everything you need to know when it comes to how you can play Newcastle in Apex Legends.
