No More Greenhouse Entry Tiles

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

Starting off our list of the best mods for Stardew Valley released in February 2021, we have one that removes the entry tiles for the greenhouse offering a cleaner look.

Normally there is a 6×4 stone slab patio in front of every greenhouse. But once downloaded, this mod lets you get rid of that if you would rather decorate the building in a different theme.

The mod also allows you to remove shadows on other farm buildings in case you wanted to customize that element of your farm as well.

Buy More Materials

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

This next mod allows you to buy more than 140 items previously unavailable in stores.

This includes items found in monster drops, as well as other more naturally occurring items. All of the new items are split across the various shops in town.

It’s sure to take a lot of the challenge out of Stardew Valley, but if you want something to make the game more accessible, especially early on, then this is the perfect mod for you.

Let Me Rest

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

Tired of always running out of stamina? This next mod offers a fix that still makes the game feel realistic.

The Let Me Rest mod makes it so when you character is seated, riding, or stopped, they will begin to recover stamina over time.

What’s really interesting about this mod is your environment will affect how quickly you recover stamina. Decoration and ambience will allow you to recover more quickly, so a well designed house will have you feeling fresh and ready to farm in no time.

Each furniture item has a different multiplier, based on the rarity, price and cuteness of the item.

Social Network Mod

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

This mod mimics the functioning of a social network by making it so becoming friends with a NPC will affect your other relationship with the NPC’s family and friends.

This allows for a lot of interaction between player relationships instead of each one being separate and static. When you gain or lose a heart with a NPC, you will gain or lose relative friendship points with related characters.

Maybe you’ll end up being nice to character you otherwise would be mean to so you don’t sacrifice other relationships you might care more about.

Big Crops

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

Big crops have a chance to spawn in game, and this mod gives you adorable new sprites for all three varieties.

The three crops that can become giant (1% chance for ever 3×3 grid of crop) are cauliflowers in spring, melons in summer, and pumpkins in fall.

The new sprites offer more detail in the pixel work, and kind of have a Over the Garden Wall kind of vibe to them.

Better Chickens

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

If your better sprite appetite was not satisfied after that last entry, here is another sprite mod which adds much cuter chicken sprites to your vanilla Stardew Valley game. Who could say no to better chickens?

This mod adds new sprites for all five chicken types, including white, brown, blue (only available after reaching Shane’s 8 heart event), golden (can only get by placing a golden egg in an incubator), and the void chicken.

The new sprites has a lot more detail, and adorable little blushing cheeks as well.

Spirit Teas and Trees

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

This absolutely massive mod offers a ton of new things from trees and artisan goods to weapons and machines. The description for the mod boasts it comes with:

  • 70 Trees
  • 28 Crops
  • 8 Machines
  • 50+ Foragables
  • 4000+ Artisan Goods
  • 60+ Weapons

Not only do most of the new items have new and custom sprites, a lot of unique functionality is tied to the new items as well. In this mod are the the four “Nature Spirits”, and as you leave them “offerings” to increase your friendship with them they will sell you a wider variety of items.

This allows you to produce hard-to-make “Divine Wines”, which can then become powerful weapons in the Volcano Forge.

Walk of Life

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

This mod changes up the base game’s professions in order for them to feel more balanced and unique. Jobs that make less money as ranching or fishing are now also possible money-making alternatives.

Instead of just farming for your money when you would really rather be mining or exploring, this mod makes it so doing all that other stuff doesn’t come at the cost of less money day-to-day.

In the features section of the mod page it states there’s new scaling end-game objectives for certain professions, level 5 professions provide simple early-game buffs that benefit most styles of general gameplay, level 10 professions are more specialized and engaging (providing two, sometimes three, bonuses), and there are new icons for every profession.

Unique Courtship

Best New Stardew Valley Mods March 2021

This was one of the most downloaded mods last month, and it makes it so all the Stardew Valley NPCs have the ability to respond to certain actions with custom content patcher mods.

The way the mod functions is a bit technical, but it’s wiki states it was made “…as a way to increase vanilla game immersion by repurposing the generic dialog…with questions that led to dialogue placed within each NPC’s dialog files.”

It essentially allows players to create custom dialog for any NPC that was made by another modder.
