Destiny 2’s latest update, Season of the Chosen, is here and players are able to dive into new content such as the Battlegrounds on Europa and Nessus (more to come later), and smashing Tribute Chests for new gear via the Hammer of Proving. If you’re here, though, you’re probably wondering how far all this new gear will take you when it comes to power. Here are the power caps for Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen including the Soft Cap, Powerful Cap, and the Pinnacle Cap.
Power Caps for Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen
Soft Cap
The Soft Cap in Destiny 2 is the point where blues and random, non-powerful legendary drops will stop increasing your power level. The game is designed to bring you up to the Soft Cap as quickly as possible no matter how long you’ve been gone as that’s usually the point where you can engage with most of the game, outside of its hardest activities.
The Soft Cap as of Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen is 1250.
Powerful Cap
The Powerful Cap is the point where even powerful legendary engram drops no longer will raise your power level. Generally you get powerful engrams from weekly challenges and activities.
The Powerful Cap in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen is 1300.
Pinnacle Cap
The Pinnacle Cap is the final, hard cap of a season. To reach the Pinnacle Cap you must earn pinnacle engrams (and Prime) engrams from the most challenging of Destiny 2 activities such as the raid and dungeons.
The Pinnacle Cap in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen is 1310.
