Getting Tatsuhime Ladybugs in Persona 4 Golden

First off, Tatsuhime Ladybugs can be used as fish bait for when you get the fishing rod, but more importantly, you’ll need one to get the rod itself in the first place.

You can get one pretty easily in June by heading to Tatsuhime Shrine during the daytime and talking to the boy there. He’ll ask you for a soda or food item, both of which can be found from the vending machine or Souzai Daigaku in the Central Shopping District. Bring the item to him and he’ll give you your first Tatsuhime Ladybug, which can then be brought to the lady at Shiroku Pub to be exchanged for the fishing hook.

If you happened to miss the boy in June, however, you can still get the Tatsuhime Ladybug by catching bugs regularly at the Shrine. All you have to do is go to the Shrine during the daytime and interact with the tree to start trying to catch bugs.

There will just be other bugs competing for your attention, and it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to catch it within your first few attempts. Because of this, it’s recommended that you get it from the boy when you can instead.

After you’ve gotten the rod, you can start using the Ladybugs as regular fishing bait whenever you’re out fishing at the Samegawa Riverbank.
