New Horizon’s Update V1.2.0 has brought with it the return of the wily fox known as Jolly Redd, along with his Treasure Trawler. And just as in previous Animal Crossing games, it’s packed full of goods you can barter for. That includes a bunch of artwork useful for kickstarting that new museum venture you’re working toward. But hark! Some of these paintings are fake. Here we’ll explain everything you need to know about the scenic painting in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
How to Get the Scenic Painting in Animal Crossing New Horizons
As with every other piece of art in the game, the Scenic Painting can only be purchased from Redd himself for 4,980 Bells or by trading with other players who are willing to drop it off for you.
It should be noted that Redd will only show up at your island after you have been donating to the museum regularly and have spoken with Blathers about featuring art at the museum. You’ll know when this will start occurring as Isabelle will warn you that some art dealers peddle fakes.
Your opportunity to visit Redd will only occur once per week over at the north beach of your island — you’ll be able to jump aboard his trawler and peruse whatever he has for sale. His stock is completely random, sometimes containing only fakes, while other times only real paintings or a combination of both.
There’s every chance the Scenic Painting will be in stock, so if that’s the case and you have the Bells then buy away. Just be sure you know what you’re looking for.
Real and Fake Differences
And that brings us to spot the differences between the real and fake versions of the painting. In the case of the Scenic Painting, you need to make sure there are two hunters between the trees. If you cannot see the hunter that we have highlighted in red below then you are looking at a fake and should not purchase it.
That is everything you should need to know about the scenic painting in Animal Crossing New Horizons. For more useful tips and guides on the game, Twinfinite’s extensive guide wiki has you covered. You can find guides on how to spot differences between all the other real/fake paintings.
