Ever watched something on Netflix that you’re kind of ashamed of? Ru Paul’s Drag Race or Too Hot to Handle got their hooks in you so bad that you can’t stop binging it no matter how hard you try? Or perhaps you’ve wronged a friend or loved one by going ahead and watching the next episode of your favorite show without them. Fortunately, you don’t have to live on with your Netflix viewing history embarrassing you. Here’s what you need to know on how to delete Netflix viewing history.
Deleting Netflix Viewing History
To start with, you’ll need to login to Netflix on your browser, as opposed to opening the app on your TV, games console, or smart device.
Once you’re here, login to your account and choose your profile. When you reach the main ‘library’ screen of Netflix, click on your account avatar in the top right-hand corner, and then select ‘Account.’
You’ll now see all of your personal details at the top of the next page, as well as your ‘Plan Details’ and settings. Just below these, you’ll find ‘Profile and Parental Controls’ with all of your listed profiles on your account here. Select the account that you want to delete the viewing history for.
Clicking on the account will cause a dropdown menu to appear. Select ‘Viewing Activity.’ It’s the fifth option down.
This will result in every movie, or every episode of a TV show that you’ve watched on that profile to appear. To remove something from your Netflix viewing history, click on the circle with a diagonal line through it next to whatever you want to delete.
By clicking on this, you’ll remove that show or movie from your viewing history. It’ll also give you the option to remove an entire series or season of a TV show from your Viewing Activity if it’s an episode you’re choosing to delete.
It’s worth keeping in mind that anything you delete from your viewing history may take up to 24 hours to be actioned.
That’s everything you need to know on deleting your Netflix viewing history. For more guides on everything video games, movies, and more, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
