Gears 5’s Bunny Hunt

Love chainsawing both people and Swarm in half? Can’t get enough of blowing someone’s head off with one swift shot of your Gnasher Shotgun, but want to enjoy some Easter festivities in the process? First, what’s wrong with you, but second, same!

And apparently, the talented team over at The Coalition feel you, too. That’s why the Bunny Hunt event has returned for a limited time in Gears 5.

For those unaware, Bunny Hunt is basically the Guardian game mode with one or two twists. First, the ‘leader’ of each team (randomly selected at the start of a round) will be given a giant bunny head with ears that’ll poke out over all that waist-high cover.

The weapon loadouts are changed up a bit, too, with precision-based weapons taking the spotlight.

What makes things even better is once you’ve played 10 matches of Bunny Hunt, you’ll get the Easter Loadout Weapon Skin Set, regardless of whether you win or lose.

You’ll have to act fast, though, as the event ends Monday, April 13.

Final Fantasy XIV’s Hatching-tide

One of the more popular MMOs right now, of course, has an Easter event to get players logging back into the region of Eorzea once again.

Final Fantasy XIV’s Hatching-tide event is broken into two chapters, with the first finishing just last weekend. Fear not, though, as the second chapter is now available until April 13 and allows players to play through the previous chapter, too.

In Hatching-tide, players must seek out the Revelrous Rabbit (X: 10.2 Y:9.4) to get Easter questing. After that, you’ll travel across the land, seeking out NPCs dressed as bunnies that give out eggs. You’ll even get to dress up as a bunny yourself, with gear that gives players the ability to help catch chicken eggs.

Complete both chapters and players will net themselves the Rabbit Head helmet, and Rabbit and Dapper Rabbit Suits respectively. Alongside that, you’ll also get the Stuffed Rabbit tabletop item, and the Hatching-tide advertisement poster shown in the images above.

Animal Crossing New Horizons’ Bunny Day

I won’t lie, I well and truly despise Zipper and everything this dumb rabbit stands for. He’s infected my island with more eggs than I realistically need to make his outrageously grotesque easter-themed furniture.

No Zipper, I don’t want to wear craft an egg shell hat, NOBODY WANTS TO WEAR AN EGG SHELL HAT.

Still, if you’re playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons right now, which most people are, you’ll likely already be familiar with the Bunny Day Event. Zipper rocks up, tells you to find a variety of egg types, and then use them to craft new Easter-themed furniture and clothing. Do so, and he’ll give you a reward at the end.

We don’t yet know what the reward is, but we can only assume it’ll be even more horrific-looking furniture.

Even though the rewards might be naff, and the event itself is a little lackluster, Bunny Day probably does the best job of translating real-life festivities into an in-game event. Who knows, perhaps next year Nintendo will make it even better following this year’s feedback.

Borderlands 3’s Rare Chest Riches & Loot Monster Mayhem

Alright, you caught us. Technically, Borderlands 3’s mini-events that were introduced yesterday and will run until April 16 aren’t technically Easter-themed, but they’re definitely conveniently timed to fall in-line with the holiday.

Rare Chest Riches increases players’ chances of receiving Legendary items from Rare Chests, while Loot Monster Mayhem increases your chance of seeing Loot enemies in the game and increases their chances to drop Legendary gear.

In other words, you’ve got a week of increased rare drops, so now’s the time to get grinding if you’ve been meaning to follow the Love, Guns and Tentacles DLC that released last week. Considering Easter festivities tend to involve getting a hidden little surprise, we’re gonna lump this in with the rest of them.

Unfortunately, the Psycho’s do not have bunny heads or masks.

Dauntless’ Springtide

Easter has come to Dauntless in the form of Springtide, bringing all kinds of egg-themed content for players to dive into. Speaking to Bosun Markus, players will be tasked with hunting for eggs, herding pufflehops into pens and fending off Styxian attacks.

Completing these earns 50 Carrot Chips, which can be spent at the Springtide Store on Easter-themed emotes, cosmetics and more.

These events bring a fresh angle to the typical Dauntless gameplay, but it’s only on until April 23 so you’ll need to act fast to get all that swag.
