Persona 5 Royal: How to Get All New Endings

Persona 5 was already a massive, 100 hour-long experience, but Atlus is back with a bigger and better version of the game, titled Persona 5 Royal, and it adds on easily another 20 hours of playtime. Here’s how to get all new endings in Persona 5 Royal.

Getting All New Endings in Persona 5 Royal

First off, it seems to be possible to just get the vanilla ending of the original game if you want to. To do this, you just need to play through the game normally and ignore the Faith and Councillor Confidants with the new characters Kasumi Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki.

If you do this, you should be able to get the original ending and finish things that way. However, if you want to see all the new content that Persona 5 Royal has to offer, you’ll need to have maxed out both Confidant ranks before the end of November.

This shouldn’t be too difficult, as Kasumi’s Faith Confidant maxes out at rank 5, while Maruki’s maxes out at rank 10. In addition to that, Persona 5 Royal gives you a bit more free time throughout the school year, so you should be able to max both out pretty comfortably in the given timeframe.

Bad Ending

To get the new bad ending, first you need to max out both Confidants, as mentioned before, and play through the game naturally. After defeating the final boss, a few other story events will occur and you’ll enter a new dungeon in the new year.

Early on in the dungeon, you’ll be faced with a choice between accepting and rejecting “this reality.” To get the bad ending, simply choose the option that says “I accept this reality.” A few more scenes will unfold, and you’ll get the new bad ending.

New True Ending

On the flip side, if you want the new true ending, you simply have to choose the option that says “I don’t accept this reality.” Doing so will allow you to explore the rest of the final dungeon and uncover the truth behind it. The game continues on for a few more hours, and you’ll be rewarded with a new expanded ending.

To recap, here’s how to get all new endings in Persona 5 Royal:

  1. Max out the Faith and Councillor Confidant ranks before the end of November.

  2. Play through the game normally and you’ll unlock a final dungeon in the new year.

  3. While exploring the dungeon, you’ll be faced with a question with two answers, which will give you the bad and true endings.
