FFXIV: How to Get Boar Hide

The main story arc of Final Fantasy XIV has come to a standstill for now, as we wait for the next story patch to drop. However, there’s still a crap ton of things to do in this game, including crafting and gathering. Here’s how to get Boar Hide in FFXIV.

How to Get Boar Hide in FFXIV

Boar Hide is a crafting material that can be used to craft Boar Leather, as well as furnishing items such as the Riviera Fringed Rug. There are a few ways to get this material in FFXIV, and it’s always worth noting that if you don’t want to grind for it, it’s possible to get it by trading and selling with other players, or checking out the market board on your server.

If you don’t want to do that, though, you can also try to farm this material by killing monsters. Specifically, the Wild Boars and Wild Hogs found in the Urth’s Gift and the Bramble Patch in the Shroud region have a chance of dropping them. Just head over and kill those enemy types for a chance to start farming Boar Hides.

Alternatively, you can also get them through the following retainer ventures:

• Field Exploration VII
• Hunting Exploration Venture

These will take time, but at least you can focus on completing other activities while waiting for your retainers to finish up their ventures.

Finally, Boar Hides can also be obtained as a potential reward from the common Leather Treasure Maps. However, if you want to get them quickly, we’d recommend just farming the Hogs and Boars, or sending your retainers on the relevant ventures.
