RAD: How to Get Floppy Disks & What They Do

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

One of RAD‘s rarer and more valuable commodities are the elusive floppy disks, and if you’re like most players, you’re probably wondering how to get floppy disks and what they do. Fortunately, we’ve got the answers to both questions.

Acting as keys to unlock treasure chests and doors, floppy disks are a means to access more resources and enter new parts of the game that would otherwise be off limits to you.

This can be especially useful if you find yourself in dire straights, as they can allow you to access healing items locked away in a chest or circumvent an especially hard boss when your health is in tatters.

Of course, this is only if you manage to get your hands on the required disks needed to access an area or open a chest, though this is an easy hurdle to get over if you know where to find them.

In addition to being a random drop by enemies, floppy disks can also be found at the bottom of toxic pools and up for sale at most vendors’ stands.

While the former does come with the risk of losing health to get your hands on the hunk of plastic, the latter is risk-free and will only cost you a minuscule amount of tapes.

To that end, keep your eyes peeled for squares with a circular hole in the middle and you’ll have some disks before you know it.

That should cover everything there is to know about how to get floppy disks and what they do in RAD. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch and PC.
