A Trophy and Achievement you can unlock later in the game, “Captain Sidekick” seems simple enough on paper. It’s description simply says “Stay with the captain.”
This should brighten some lightbulbs in the head of any player who has reached and completed Chapter 14, as there’s a segment where you must tail the Inquisition’s commander Captain Nicholas through their headquarters.
In practice though, things can get a bit more complicated and frustrating. No matter how closely you follow him, there are segments where you’re separated by what appears to be points tied to the story.
Fortunately, we’ve uncovered the secret to nabbing this trophy and devised a sure-fire strategy to help you get it as soon as possible.
What You Need to Do to Unlock the Captain Sidekick Trophy and Achievement
First, play through Chapter 14 until you reach the point where Hugo has to start tailing Captain Nicholas. Follow him closely until you reach the garden area and he starts talking to another guard about how Hugo came to them.
At this point, circle around the lefthand side of the garden until you reach a gap in the hedges. Go through the gap, then use them as cover to cut across to the right side of the garden.
A guard may spot you during this time, but he’ll only become suspicious as long as you keep moving.
From there, look to your left. There should be an open door you can go through to exit the garden while Nicholas is still making his way past his men. Head through the door, then look straight ahead for another open door you can head through.
If you’ve played through the chapter before, you’ll notice that this is the door Nicholas normally goes through and separates himself from you with. By reaching it ahead of time though, you can successfully get in and keep tailing him.
Head through the open door, then look to your right for a table you can crawl under. Hide under it, then wait for Nicholas to come into the room and close the door. The trophy or achievement should prompt shortly after this.
