How to Beat Breakers in Days Gone

Unlike your regular dudes like the Swarmers or Newts, Breakers are much tougher and harder to kill.

As you progress through the story in Days Gone, you’ll eventually be forced to face once of these guys, so make sure you’re all stocked up on ammo and explosives.

If you’re able to get close to a Breaker without drawing its attention, take this opportunity to lob a few molotov cocktails and pipe grenades at it. Once the fight starts, it’ll start moving too quickly for you to be able to throw an explosive at it reliably.

Using Focused Shot

Once the enemy is fully aggro-ed on you, you’ll want to focus on maintaining some distance. As the Breaker charges towards you, keep pelting it with machine gun bullets, and use the Focused Shot ability if you have to. Shooting its head will give you a slight chance of stunning it, providing you with even more time to keep shooting away.

Once it reaches you, the Breaker will try to melee you, but you can dodge roll out of the attack easily as long as you have stamina. Sprint away from the enemy, then start shooting again. Rinse and repeat.

If the Breaker happens to grab you, you’ll still be able to break out of its hold by mashing the button prompts that appear onscreen, but be warned that your health will get drained.

That’s all you need to know about how to beat Breakers in Days Gone. Be sure to check our Days Gone guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
