Throughout Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you stumble across item after item, some extremely useful, some nothing more than something for you to find. You’ll find new weapons, ancient tablets, pieces of gear, resources, and artifact fragments. Most of these items are pretty straightforward in their use. The fragments, though, can be a tad confusing. Fear not. We’ve got you covered. Here’s what to do with artifact fragments in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey does a lot to change the franchise formula that many have fallen in love with for the past decade. Some fans, though, believe that the franchise has grown stale and as a result, welcome the changes present in Odyssey. One of the most divisive changes is the removal of the famed hidden blade.

Throughout your time in Odyssey, instead of a hidden blade, you’ll be using the Spear of Leonidas. To upgrade your spear, you’ll need to find artifact fragments.

Where can you find these items? Sadly, you won’t randomly come across them like you would a tablet or piece of gear. To obtain artifact fragments in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you need to kill a cultist from the Cult of Kosmos. Each time you kill one, you receive an artifact fragment.

Now, to upgrade the Spear of Leonidas, you need to head to the Ancient Forge with fragments in tow. Once there, simply select the upgrade and you’re all set. The Spear of Leonidas has grown into something even more powerful.

Moreover, if you haven’t found the Ancient Forge yet, just keep playing through the story. Herodotus and Barnabas will eventually take you there. Like true BFFs do, they lead you to your destiny.

Beyond that, there isn’t much else to do with artifact fragments beyond upgrading the Spear of Leonidas. In fact, there isn’t anything else to do.

Ubisoft’s game is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC with several different editions available for purchase.

That’s all there is to know about what to do with artifact fragments in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. For more information about the game, be sure to check out our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey wiki for tips, tricks, walkthroughs and more.
