Is Overkill’s The Walking Dead Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Overkill’s The Walking Dead is another look into the zombie apocalyptic series, featuring tense fights and cooperative action as a first-person shooter. Players can choose to play as one of the four different protagonists –Maya, Aiden, Grant, and Heather– who each have their own unique traits and abilities. While the game is slated to launch for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in just a few months, Nintendo Switch players might be wondering if Overkill’s The Walking Dead is heading over to the hybrid console.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The developers have yet to comment about bringing the zombie shooter over to the Nintendo Switch, nor does it seem like they have any plans to do so. Overkill’s The Walking Dead seems to be a graphically and technically demanding game, and the Nintendo Switch might have some trouble trying to run it. That said, Overkill could always downgrade the game, although until they actually announce a port, it probably isn’t worth waiting for one. Nintendo Switch fans are probably better off grabbing a copy of Overkill’s The Walking Dead on the aforementioned platforms instead.
Those who plan on getting the zombie game won’t have to wait too much longer as the PC version is slated to launch on Nov. 6 later this year. Meanwhile, those playing on consoles can grab a copy of the game on Feb. 6, 2019. Overkill’s take on the series deviates from Telltale’s narrative-driven games, featuring completely different characters and play styles. This action game will also feature stealth, survival horror, and role-playing elements in the mix.
