How to Beat Wanted Combustor Valus in Destiny 2: Forsaken

Combustor Valus is part of the new Wanted bounties that have been added into Destiny 2 as of the Forsaken expansion. These bounties can be obtained from Spider on The Tangled Shore, and usually involve you visiting a Lost Sector and taking out a boss, and this week it’s Combustor Valus. Think of it as a streamlined strike.

Here’s how you kill Wanted: Blood Cleaver in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Make your way through the Lost Sector on Mercury, Pariah’s Refuge, until you reach the end. You will face some light, but relatively high power level Cabal resistance along the way and possibly some Vex as well. You’ll know you’re in the boss room when you see a massive fire shield, and our pal Combustor Valus.

Combustor Valus, like Blood Cleaver, hangs out in this shield and refuses to budge. Luckily for you, it’s not as frustrating to deal with as the suppression field. Instead, it’s similar to the damaging fire shield from the Injection Rig public event. It’s annoying, but not insurmountable.

Clear out all the enemies outside of the shield, pop in, damage the boss as much as you can, preferably with supers, and then get out. There will be a mix of void and fire shields that you’ll need to deal with, so bring some weapons/supers to deal with that. There’s no reason to die as long as you take your time and are patient.

There’s nothing too alarming that spawns throughout the fight, and as long as you take your time by clearing out all the enemies before damaging the boss, you shouldn’t have too much trouble. Some enemies will drop overshields that you can pick up as well, which will buy you a little extra time in the fire shield.
