Is the Drum Gun Vaulted in Fortnite? What You Need to Know

Recommended Videos

Weapons come and go in Fortnite, whether that’s literally in the space of a game, or literally being added into the game, and then being taken out. It’s a sad time, and everyone hopes that their favorite weapon will forever remain within Fortnite’s arsenal of available weapons. When weapons are removed from the game, however, this is referred to as a weapon being ‘vaulted.’ Some players may have noticed that following the latest content update to Fortnite, the Drum Gun is nowhere to be seen.

Well, we’ve got some bad news for you. The 5.40 content update that went live today saw the Drum Gun get vaulted. There has been no word as of yet whether this is a temporary vaulting while its values are adjusted, or if this is permanent. Considering how useful the Drum Gun was for cutting down structures quickly, and peppering players at close-range, we wouldn’t be surprised if we weren’t the only ones mourning the fact it’s been vaulted right now.

On the upside, Epic Games has added in a new weapon. The Suppressed Assault Rifle offers excellent accuracy for those players that have “trigger discipline” according to the patch notes. You’ll be able to find it in Vending Machines, chests, supply drops, and on the floor, and it’ll come in Epic and Legendary variants.

Sure, it’s a nice addition, but it doesn’t quite fill the gap that the Drum Gun leaves behind within Fortnite’s meta.

Of course, there’s only a week or two left of Fortnite Season 5, and so there’s always the possibility we may get a more apt replacement for the Drum Gun at the beginning of Season 6, or it may return in a slightly altered form. When we find anything out, we’ll be sure to let you know over here at Twinfinite.
