How to Get Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2
The Kingdom Hearts series, for all of its whimsical Disney charm, has always had some technical issues, specifically with the camera and occasionally with traversal, depending on the title. Thankfully, there is an ability that allows players to soar above the ground and ostensibly fly. This technique, called Glide, allows for faster movement around the worlds and as another method for dodging enemies’ attacks. Here is how to get Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2. Note that this guide does contain spoilers for Kingdom Hearts 2.
The first major task that must be accomplished is acquiring Final Form. Sora will be able to get Final Form after he defeats Roxas towards the end of the campaign. Glide Level 1 comes with Final Form from the start and is the growth ability for Final Form.
To level up Final Form and thusly level up Glide, Sora will have to defeat Nobodies. Every Nobody, including bosses, will grant Sora experience points that will go towards leveling up Final Form. As Sora levels up Final Form, he will also get the ability to use Glide outside of Final Form. So for example, at Final Form level 3, Sora will learn how to use Glide level 1 outside of Final Form. Leveling up Glide decreases the angle at which Sora glides at, which will keep him in the air for longer. At Glide level 3, Sora will stay in the air indefinitely.
Here is the level progression of Final Form and Glide in Kingdom Hearts 2:
- Level 1: Final Form has Glide level 1 by default
- Level 3: Final Form learns Glide level 2, Sora can use Glide level 1 outside of Final Form.
- Level 5: Final Form learns Glide level 3, Sora can use Glide level 2 outside of Final Form.
- Level 7: Final Form learns Glide MAX, Sora can use Glide level 3 outside of Final Form.
