Since the Spider-Man that we’ll be playing as in this new iteration is a much more experienced superhero with years of combat under his belt, there’s a ton of neat gadgets that our web-slinger has in his arsenal, gadgets that can be upgraded to knock the socks off of your enemies. By not keeping track of your upgrades, you might have trouble defeating some of the harder enemies and bosses, especially if you’re playing on a harder difficulty mode.

In and around the city of New York, you will find many side missions and activities to mess around with, and if completed, will net you tokens that can be used to upgrade your gadgets.

If you head to the gadgets tab within the pause menu, just select the gadget that you wish to upgrade, and if you have the necessary amount of tokens, you’ll be able to beef em up by holding the X button.

Try to accomplish as many side activities as you can whilst on your adventure, and you should be able to upgrade all of your neat gadgets to your heart’s content.

It might be a little bit hard to distract yourself from the main story missions that Spider-Man throws at you, but if you upgrade your gadgets, then those missions will be a piece of cake.
