No Man’s Sky NEXT is the game’s most substantial update yet, adding new features such as a graphical overhaul, new mechanics and systems, and a full multiplayer mode that means you’ll finally be able to traverse the universe with your pals. Although there has been some tweaks to the mission structure, the core of No Man’s Sky remains very much a survival experience. As such, you’ll spend a great deal of time foraging for different resources to craft new materials. Particularly so, given that that base building is a now a central facet of the experience, with players able to build bases wherever they please. There are dozens and dozens of materials required to craft individual items. Glass is one such material, a shatter-proof, scratch-resistant glass with a self-cleaning, UV-cured coating, for general construction use. Here’s how to get glass in No Man’s Sky NEXT.
Glass is a material crafted from Frost Crystals, a resource that is a member of the harvested agricultural subsistence class. This blue crystal resource can be harvested from Frostwort, which is a plant that thrives in cold conditions. You’ll find the resource across various dark black/purple/blue plants. Do note that it requires the use of Haz-Mat gauntlets to harvest.
But trekking around planets to harvest the material manually isn’t the only way to obtain Frost Crystals. Indeed, with assistance from an NPC Farmer, Frost Crystals can also be grown as a product of the Frostwort plant, yielding 50 with a harvest time of approximately 15 minutes.
Do remember that you’ll need x250 Frost Crystal to make Glass.
