How to Get a Domination Bonus in Octopath Traveler
Octopath Traveler features a complicated, yet satisfying combat system that forces you to strategically use something called Boost Points (BP) in battle. BP is accrued after each turn where you don’t use your BP, and you can use it to enhance your attacks and abilities up to 4X its normal effectiveness. By properly using BP in battle, you can earn different bonuses at the end of a fight in which you are victorious. There’s Untouched, which requires you to not take any damage to earn more money, Break, which tasks you with breaking through an enemy’s defenses for extra XP, and finally, the bonus that I’m assuming you’re all here for, the Domination Bonus.
To get a Domination Bonus in Octopath Traveler, you’ll need to defeat all enemies in one turn. That means if you have one character, you’ll need to defeat all your enemies in that one turn. If you have more than one character, than a full turn for the purpose of the Domination Bonus is when everyone gets to act once.
Getting a Domination Bonus in Octopath Traveler is obviously easier with multiple characters on your team then. Try to quickly exploit the enemies’ defenses to make them vulnerable, and then follow that up with powerful special attacks to quickly kill them. This is your best chance to get that extra JP. Along the way, you’ll grow more powerful, get better equipment, and find party members that have good synergy with each other to make getting it easier, but early on it can be a bit tough.
