ONRUSH
Best Multiplayer and Co-Op Games of June 2018
Unlike other racing games where the finish line is the ultimate decider, in Onrush the winner of a race is determined by points gained by a player through ‘boosting.’ Boosting increases your speed temporarily, and the ability to boost is earned by either pulling off stunts or smashing into enemy players.
There are various modes to try, such as Countdown where you keep up with the checkpoints as long as you can, Lockdown which is a king-of-the-hill game where whatever team stays inside the designated zone the longest is the winner, or Switch where every player gets three lives and teams battle to knock the enemies out. However, for every life lost, the player will respawn with an even stronger vehicle than before.
There is unfortunately no split-screen co-op in Onrush, with Codemasters saying, “We would absolutely LOVE to include split-screen. Couch co-op is something we all ADORE, but with our ambitious timeline before release it’s not something we’ve been able to do, unfortunately.”
Instead, you can play online with friends by organizing in the game’s lobby system to play anything from quickplay to the longer game modes mentioned above.
Onrush released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on June 5.
