Recommended Videos

It’s time to return to the brooding and gruesomely depressing world of Dark Souls. With the arrival of the Dark Souls Remastered version, the beginning of what has become one of the gaming industry’s most iconic and influential titles is finally available on current generation hardware. As you’d expect, there’s a substantial performance boost and visual upgrade as part of the package that both versions of the PS4 will benefit from. But if you’re a PS4 Pro player, you’ll be wanting to know exactly what that entails for Sony’s beefed up machine.

Dark Souls Remastered runs at 60fps on PS4 and PS4 Pro, though recent reviews have found the framerate to be slightly more stable on Pro. The biggest upgrade, however, is where the base model runs at 1080p, PS4 Pro consoles can run 60fps in an upscaled 4K resolution. So you’ll be enjoying a significant boost in resolution and sharpness compared with the base model. Unfortunately, there is no HDR available on any platform.

That’s all you need to know about whether Dark Souls Remastered is PS4 Pro compatible. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
