How to Play Online Co-Op Multiplayer in Dark Souls Remastered
Praise the Sun! Dark Souls Remastered has finally arrived on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, bringing the challenging RPG gameplay and fiendishly difficult boss battles of the adventure that started it all to the current generation. Sporting 1080p visuals (or 4K if you’ve got a One X, PS4 Pro, or powerful enough PC), a buttery-smooth 60 FPS, and an improved online matchmaking system, there’s ample reason for fans to head back to Lordran once more. Of course, with new online systems, you’re probably wondering what you need to do to play online co-op multiplayer in Dark Souls Remastered.
To play online co-op multiplayer in Dark Souls Remastered, you’ll first need to get the White Sign Soapstone. This can be obtained either by killing Solaire, or responding “Yes” to both of his questions when you first meet him. For those who are unsure of Solaire’s location, you’ll need to head to the Undead Burg, in the area just after where you defeated Taurus Demon.
Once you’ve got the White Sign Soapstone in Dark Souls Remastered, simply place it into one of your item slots, ensure you’ve got it selected, and then press Square (X on Xbox One) to leave your summon sign on the ground. Any other players playing Dark Souls Remastered in that area will then see the sign and can interact with it to summon you and start an online co-op multiplayer session.
If you want to play online co-op multiplayer with your friends and only be summoned by them into their world (or summon them into your world), you’ll need to set a matching password in your network settings (this can be done through Dark Souls Remastered’s options menu). Simply set the password, give it to your friends, and now only people who enter that same password will be able to see your summon sign.
That’s all you need to know to play online co-op multiplayer in Dark Souls Remastered. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
