Where Ordeal by Innocence Was Filmed
Ordeal by Innocence has just gotten a three-episode series that stars actors Bill Nighy, Anna Chancellor, Elanor Tomlinson, Matthew Goode, and Alice Eve. The show is based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name, with the plot following a doctor named Arthur Calgary who goes off on a personal investigation to prove the innocence of a man named Jack Argyle. That being said, some fans might be wondering where production filmed the show.
The gorgeous Argyle mansion is located at the Ardgowan Estate on the Scottish coast near Glasgow. Beautiful wisteria and vast gardens surround the estate, while a sweeping staircase lies inside the building. On top of that, the estate also includes the remains of Inverkip castle and even has a Gothic chapel, St Michael and All Angels. Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart currently owns the Grade A Inverkip property.
The cast and crew spent six weeks at the location, with producer Roopesh Parekh stating that it was the “perfect home.” The actors had no troubles moving freely around the set, and everyone also had their own dressing rooms in the 18th-century mansion.
